The artwork was inspired by Momo by Michael Ende. In the book, the Gray Gentlemen claim that any time not spent making money is wasted, leading people to imprison themselves within the constraints of time. The rusty clock surface symbolizes this confinement, reflecting how individuals become overly preoccupied and lose sight of the true beauty of life. Inside the clock, however, a family having a picnic is depicted. Painted in vivid, colorful shades, each family member appears joyful and bright, creating a stark contrast with the dullness of the clock. Through this piece, I sought to emphasize the tension between life’s genuine joys and the limiting pressures of time.
