Above Until Beneath

The artwork, inspired by Gulliver’s Travels, explores the shifting dynamics of power and perception through a hierarchy of scale. Three figures—giant, ordinary, and tiny—stand within the same space, each conveying a different sense of superiority. For the smallest figure, the medium-sized person appears overwhelming and threatening, while the medium figure, despite holding power over the tiny one, is diminished in the shadow of the towering giant. The contrast in size creates an ironic perspective in which dominance is always relative. This work reflects the egocentric nature of human beings, who often perceive themselves as greater than they truly are, forgetting that their sense of superiority is fragile when viewed from a higher standpoint.
