Inspired by The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, this artwork illustrates how 

humans gradually increase their demands on nature. In the artwork, two

Figures are each pulling down and hammering the tree in between 

them, symbolizing exploitation. I incorporated newspaper clippings onto the leaves to reveal what is truly being destroyed when trees and nature are damaged.

Cutting down a tree does not just mean creating a material for making objects—it represents the sacrifice of nature, ecosystems, and eventually us human’s lives.
